S.I. No. 213/2025 - Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2025

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 30th May, 2025.

I, JAMES BROWNE, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (1) of the Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 (No. 40 of 2024), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2025.

2. The Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 (No. 40 of 2024), in so far as it is not already in operation, shall come into operation on the date of the dissolution of Dáil Éireann that next occurs after the making of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage by section 2 (1) of the Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 (No. 40 of 2024), this Order appoints the date of the dissolution of Dáil Éireann that next occurs after the making of this Order as the day on which the Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 (No. 40 of 2024), in so far as it is not already in operation, shall come into operation.
