S.I. No. 206/2025 - Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (Designation of the United Arab Emirates) Order 2025

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (No. 7 of 2008) (as adapted by the Foreign Affairs (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 106 of 2025 )), after consultation with the Minister for Justice, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (Designation of the United Arab Emirates) Order 2025.

2. The United Arab Emirates is designated for the purposes of mutual assistance between the State and that state under the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (No. 7 of 2008) in accordance with the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between Ireland and the United Arab Emirates signed on 21 October 2024.
